Kolla Kananchiari (Bronce West)

Kolla Kananchiari, formerly known as Bronce West, is located along the Coastal Cordillera of northern Chile. Kolla Kananchiari is an early-stage exploration property near the historically important El Bronce de Petorca mining district. There are two principal targets at Kolla Kananchiari: the Central-East Zone and the Camino Zone. A large hydrothermal alteration zone (7 km by 1.5 km) exists directly to the west of the Central-East Zone. Historical drilling and geophysical surveys suggest that the exposed hydrothermal alteration corresponds to the outer halo of a porphyry copper system and that the central part of the system lies in the Central-East zone. The Camino Zone displays copper oxide minerals along faults and manto-style replacement bodies of copper oxide and relict copper sulfide minerals within the adjacent country rock. Elsewhere on the property, low-sulfidation epithermal-style quartz veins are interpreted to represent the roots of low-sulfidation epithermal system superimposed upon deeper copper porphyry systems.

The property is currently owned and operated by Masglas America Corp., a private Chilean company. Recommended next steps for exploration include detailed mapping and an induced polarity (IP) geophysical survey over the Central-East Zone, as well as detailed mapping and a soil geochemistry survey at the Camino Zone. EMX acquired the 1% NSR on precious metals and 0.5% NSR on base metals at Kolla Kananchiari from Revelo Resources in 2020 (see EMX Press Release dated March 26, 2020).
