The Cerro Blanco Project includes a 6,500 hectare land position in northern Chile approximately 130 km southeast of the coastal port city of Antofagasta, and in a similar geologic setting to Spence (BHP) and Sierra Gorda (KGHM & Sumitomo) copper mines.
The project targets partially outcropping porphyry and epithermal targets with post mineral gravel-covered (pampa) extensions. Work to date includes heli-borne magnetic survey, historical drilling and surface geochemical sampling. A significant magnetic anomaly partially underlays the Cerro Blanco hill and represents a magnetic intrusive center that is related to hydrothermal alteration seen at surface. Historical drilling has cut porphyry-style alteration; however alteration patterns are poorly understood to date. EMX believes this early-stage project has the components of a large porphyry copper system.
EMX acquired a 2% NSR on the Cerro Blanco property from Revelo Resources in 2020 (See EMX Press Release dated March 26, 2020). The project is operated by Pampa Metals, a publicly traded Canadian company (CSE: PM), see their website for more project details https://pampametals.com/cerroblanco/.
Note: The nearby mines and deposits mentioned above provide context for EMX’s Project, which occurs in a similar geologic setting, but this is not necessarily indicative that the project hosts similar tonnages or grades of mineralization
