Copper King, Arizona

Copper King is a porphyry copper project in the Superior District of central Arizona. The project is located about four kilometers north of the world-class Resolution Deposit. In October of 2016 EMX entered into an Exploration and Option to Purchase Agreement, through its wholly owned subsidiary Bronco Creek Exploration Inc., for the Copper King porphyry copper project to Kennecott Exploration Company, part of the Rio Tinto Group (see Company news release dated October 19, 2016).

EMX has recognized distal skarn alteration and local copper mineralization in Pre-Cambrian basement and Paleozoic limestone units. The skarn assemblages at Copper King are similar to those zoned within 200-500 meters of the 1% copper shell at Resolution (McCarrell, 2012). The system is plunging to the west-southwest, with the target area concealed under weakly altered host rocks on EMX’s property.

Note: The nearby mines and deposits in the region provide context for EMX’s Project, which occurs in a similar geologic setting, but this is not necessarily indicative that the project hosts similar mineralization.
